LeRoi Moore funeral services scheduled
LeRoi Moore’s funeral will take place Wednesday morning in Charlottesville, Va., according to his obituary in the Charlottesville Daily Progress.
LeRoi’s funeral will be at the First Baptist Church in Charlottesville, preceded by visiting hours Tuesday afternoon. The obituary also shed some light on LeRoi’s personal life: He had gotten engaged in November, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan, and his aunts and uncles called him “Bop Bop” after the sounds he made scatting jazz riffs as a toddler.
Dave Matthews Band has a concert scheduled in West Valley City, Utah on Wednesday. As of now, the band has not canceled or postponed the show. It is unknown if any band members plan on attending the services for LeRoi.
I think it’s important that fans allow for close family and friends of LeRoi to take this time to mourn their loved one. We are hurting in a different way than they are and will have our time to memorialize this great musician. I urge fans to stay home, make a great LeRoi filled setlist, and cherish your memories to allow his family and friends to attend his services in peace.
