DMB Live Trax 14 honors LeRoi Moore

Dave Matthews Band will honor late saxophonist LeRoi Moore with Live Trax Vol. 14, a recording of his final concert.

LeRoi last played with DMB on June 28, 2008 at the Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge in Bristow, Va. Two days later, he broke ribs and punctured a lung in an ATV accident near his Virginia farm, and he passed away from a pulmonary embolism related to those injuries Aug. 19 in Los Angeles, where he had gone to begin rehabilitation.

The June 28 show marked the first time DMB played Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer,” and the band also revived “The Space Between” for the first time since 2004. DMB has not confirmed the Live Trax 14 release yet, but the album cover — a close-up photo of LeRoi playing sax — has leaked online.

UPDATE (2/3): Dave Matthews Band will donate the album’s proceeds in LeRoi Moore’s memory to several Charlottesville, Va.-area charities. Live Trax 14 is available for preorder, and DMB is also selling a new saxophone T-shirt.
