Dave Matthews Band names new album Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King

Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King is the name of the new Dave Matthews Band album.

DMB announced the name of the album tonight. The title is a tribute to late DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore, whose nickname was “Groogrux,” according to AntsMarching.org.

This video, posted by AntsMarching.org earlier this week, shows Boyd Tinsley playing violin in the studio, possibly to the song that inspired the Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King album title:

Dave Matthews posted the following lyrics, which apparently are from this song, on Twitter the other day: “Still here dancing with the Groo Grux King. We’ll be drinking big whiskey while we dance and sing. When we get to the end, I’m gonna end.”

Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King is due out June 2.
