New DMB studio video previews Big Whiskey
A new Dave Matthews Band studio video includes a clip of “Shake Me Like a Monkey,” the first track from Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King:
The video, posted on YouTube yesterday, captures a late February night in New Orleans when producer Rob Cavallo invited 15 lucky DMB fans into the studio to preview the new album. It includes the first minute or so of the album, which begins with a sax intro by the late LeRoi Moore and then breaks into “Shake Me Like a Monkey.” Dave Matthews, Carter Beauford and Rashawn Ross were also in the studio at the time.
The song features blaring horns and an energetic funk sound that has gotten positive reviews from fans so far. AntsMarching.org reports that more studio videos are on the way as DMB begins its promotional push for the new album, which comes out June 2.
This is awesome… I was giddy like a little girl when this video came out. I really hope they can keep teasing us with videos of this sort.
I was pumped when the horns kicked in. I agree, I love these teases too.
