John Edwards’ Dave Matthews Band wedding promise to his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, has drawn a response from Stefan Lessard.

“We don’t play weddings. Period,” Stefan wrote last night on Twitter. He added that Edwards’ promise was “ridiculous and wrong.”

Edwards, the former North Carolina senator and Democratic nominee for vice president, told Hunter he would marry her after his cancer-stricken wife died, and DMB would perform at the wedding.

DMB may not do weddings, as Stefan wrote, but Dave Matthews has. In 2004, part of his Dave Matthews and Friends band performed at RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser’s wedding in Seattle, featuring a guest appearance by Eddie Vedder.
