Dave Matthews at MusiCares Neil Young tribute

Dave Matthews will play at the MusiCares tribute to Neil Young concert Jan. 29 in Los Angeles.

The MusiCares Neil Young tribute concert will honor Young for his music career and charitable work, Rolling Stone reports. Dave Matthews is part of a lineup that includes Young’s former bandmates Crosby, Stills and Nash, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mellencamp, Wilco and James Taylor.

The concert will mark Dave’s second performance at a Neil Young tribute show; he covered “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)” at a 2001 concert. Dave Matthews Band has since covered that song and several other classics, including “Down By the River” and “Cortez the Killer.” Young has also joined DMB on stage to play those songs on occasion, as well as “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “All Along the Watchtower.”

MusiCares is a foundation run by the Grammys that supports those in the music industry during times of personal emergencies. The foundation named Neil Young its 2010 Person of the Year in August.
