Dave Matthews Hope for Haiti telethon performance announced

Dave Matthews will perform on Friday’s Hope for Haiti telethon to raise money for Haiti earthquake relief.

The Dave Matthews Hope for Haiti telethon performance will take place in Los Angeles, where George Clooney will host. Other Los Angeles performers include Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Keith Urban and Sheryl Crow.

Wyclef Jean will host the “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon from New York, where Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Shakira will perform. Anderson Cooper will host from Haiti, and Bono and the Edge, Coldplay, Jay-Z and Rihanna will perform from London.

Dave Matthews’ Hope for Haiti telethon performance will be his first telethon since after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, when he played “Everyday.” The Hope for Haiti telethon will raise money for the American Red Cross, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, the United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam America and other charities. It airs Friday at 8 p.m. ET on most major networks and YouTube, Hulu and MySpace.

Dave Matthews’ Hope for Haiti telethon performance, and those of all performers, will be available for download from iTunes on Saturday for 99 cents each.
