DMB Wrigley Field bomb suspect pleads not guilty

The Dave Matthews Band concert bomb plot suspect pleaded not guilty this week, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Sami Samir Hassoun, 22, faces terror charges, accused of planting what he thought was a bomb outside Wrigley Field after the Sept. 18 DMB concert. Hassoun had been working with undercover federal agents, and the DMB Wrigley Field bomb plot was part of a larger plan to have his friend take control over the city of Chicago, authorities said. That plan included poisoning the water supply, bombing the Willis Tower and assassinating Mayor Richard Daley, authorities said.

After Hassoun’s arraignment Wednesday, his lawyer Myron Auerbach told reporters Hassoun is “troubled” and a “big talker,” but not a terrorist, according to the Sun-Times. Hassoun’s next court date in the DMB Wrigley Field bomb plot case is scheduled for Nov. 3.
