Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds get Grammy nomination
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
The Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Grammy nomination is for the song “Kundalini Bonfire” from last year’s Live in Las Vegas album. Tim played the song by himself on the album, but the entire album is credited to Dave and Tim, so apparently that’s why they both received the Grammy nomination (or it’s a mistake).
“Kundalini Bonfire” is a Tim Reynolds original, which originally appeared on his 1996 live album, Gossip of the Neurons.
In addition to Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, the other artists who received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance are Jeff Beck (for “Hammerhead”), the Black Keys (for “Black Mud”), Los Lobos (for “Do the Murray”) and Dweezil Zappa (for “The Deathless Horsie”).
The Grammy Awards air Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. on CBS. Watch this video of Tim Reynolds playing “Kundalini Bonfire” on Dec. 12, 2009, during the show recorded for Live in Las Vegas:
