DMB concert bomb suspect to plead guilty
The man charged in last year’s Dave Matthews Band concert bomb plot in Chicago will plead guilty, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The FBI and Chicago police arrested Sami Samir Hassoun after he planted what he thought was a bomb outside Wrigley Field after the Sept. 18, 2010 DMB concert there. Hassoun had unknowingly been working with undercover agents who provided him with the fake bomb.
Hassoun had pleaded not guilty to the DMB concert bomb plot in October 2010, but on Dec. 21, federal prosecutors told a judge they had been involved in plea talks with Hassoun’s lawyer. The judge canceled Hassoun’s trial, which was scheduled to begin in February.
