Dave Matthews Band will headline the Hangout Music Fest, a three-day festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The DMB Hangout Music Fest news had been rumored for weeks but became official this morning. Jack White will co-headline the festival, which features an eclectic lineup of more than 40 musical acts, from Skrillex and Paul Oakenfold to Randy Newman and Steve Winwood. The festival takes place May 18-20 and boasts a unique venue: right on the beach, with lodging at resorts and condos along the Gulf of Mexico.

For DMB, the Hangout Music Fest is the first official tour date of 2012. The band is expected to tour the United States in support of (or testing songs for) a new album with producer Steve Lillywhite.

Hangout Music Fest tickets go on sale Friday for $194. Various levels of VIP passes are also available, as are travel packages. There’s no word yet if DMB will make Hangout tickets available through the Warehouse.
