Dave Matthews Band 2018 tour dates, new album announced

The Dave Matthews Band 2018 tour will make 45 stops in support of a new studio album.

DMB released no details about the new album, its first since 2012, other than to say “the band is currently putting the finishing touches on” it. Official word of a new DMB album first emerged in September, when Dave Matthews said he and Carter Beauford had gone into the studio to record music for the project.

The Dave Matthews Band 2018 tour kicks off May 18 in The Woodlands, Texas and runs through Sept. 10 in Los Angeles. It includes two-night stands in Gilford, New Hampshire; Camden, New Jersey; Chicago; Noblesville, Indiana; Saratoga Springs, New York; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Englewood, Colorado. DMB will also make its traditional three-night stand at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington over Labor Day Weekend.

But lawn and other reserved seating tickets will start at $45.50 and $49.50, respectively, depending on the venue. In addition, each ticket purchased by May 17 will come with a copy of the new DMB album, either on CD or as a digital download.

The first DMB concert of 2018 will take place Feb. 3 at The Night Before concert, which is part of the Super Bowl celebration in Minneapolis. That will be the band’s first show since 2016, aside from the Concert for Charlottesville in September. Former keyboard player Butch Taylor rejoined the band for that performance; there has been no word regarding his future status with the band, either in the studio or on tour.

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will also perform Jan. 28 as part of the Citi Sound Vault series at Irving Plaza in New York.
