DMB New Orleans Jazz Fest announcement coming Thursday
Dave Matthews Band will headline the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, according to the Snowden Grove Amphitheater website.
The official DMB New Orleans Jazz Fest announcement will come Thursday, when the festival announces its full lineup. Jazz Fest takes place April 26 to May 5, but there are not yet details about which date DMB will play.
Snowden Grove’s website leaked the news in its announcement of its own DMB concert, which will take place April 27. In addition that show in Southaven, Mississippi, DMB will also play April 6 in Pelham, Alabama. Jazz Fest and those April concerts are the only DMB tour dates scheduled for 2013 so far.
This year will mark the eighth DMB New Orleans Jazz Fest performance. The first was in 1994, and the most recent was in 2009. Tickets are on sale now.
UPDATE (Jan. 17, 10:17 a.m.): It’s official. DMB will play Jazz Fest on April 28. Other acts scheduled to perform that day include Earth, Wind and Fire, B.B. King, the Gypsy Kings and Better Than Ezra. Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Hall and Oates, Maroon 5, The Black Keys, Widespread Panic, Phoenix, Willie Nelson and John Mayer are among the other major acts who will appear at the festival.

Dave Matthews Band April 2013 dates announced

Carter Beauford and Dave Matthews perform during Dave Matthews Band’s 2012 concert in Hartford, Connecticut.
Dave Matthews Band will play two concerts this April in the Southeast.
The first DMB shows of 2013 will be April 6 at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, Alabama and April 27 at Snowden Grove Amphitheater in Southaven, Mississippi. The April 27 concert will mark the band’s first performance in Mississippi since 1994.
The Dave Matthews Band April 2013 dates are odd in that there are only two of them, and they’re three weeks apart. The band’s official announcement does not give the impression that these dates are part of a larger spring tour.
Vintage Trouble will open for DMB in Pelham. Warehouse members may request tickets to these concerts from Jan. 17-28. There’s a presale for Citi cardholders Feb. 4, and tickets go on sale to the general public Feb. 8.
UPDATE (Jan. 15, 6:16 p.m.): DMB will also play the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
UPDATE (Jan. 23, 4:41 p.m.): North Mississippi All-Stars is the opening act for the Southaven concert.

DMBnews.net Song Poll 2013 Results
This year’s DMBnews.net Song Poll results are out, and there’s a new No. 1.
“Ants Marching” took the top spot from “#41,” which slipped to No. 2 this year. “Two Step” remained entrenched in third place, the same spot it held in the last poll, conducted in 2010. The same 10 songs cracked the top 10 this year, albeit in different order, and 23 of the top 25 are the same. “Granny” (No. 24) and “Everyday” (No. 25) moved into the top 25, while “Satellite” (No. 26) and “Rapunzel” (No. 32) fell out.
The biggest movers and shakers are “American Baby” (No. 56) and “Captain” (No. 60), both of which moved up 29 places from their previous spots. The songs that dropped the farthest are “What You Are” (46 to 76), “Sweet Up and Down” (58 to 86), “Good Good Time” (72 to 100) and “Lying in the Hands of God” (38 to 64). Nine songs cracked the top 100 for the first time, including seven Away From the World tracks, led by “Drunken Soldier” at No. 27.
This year, 551 people voted — more than twice as many than in the last poll. Thanks to everyone who shared their opinions!
